Art on the Prom has now found a new producer to run the event, who has previously run successful art events, exhibitions and art fairs. Some of you may know Iona Hodgson, who will be working from here on in to reinstate this legendary event for the benefit of the local community of artists and art lovers. Iona is the Co-Director of Art Eat Events, and has also curated and organised various high quality exhibitions and art fairs in Ipswich and Colchester through her business At Large Ltd including The Secret Art Fair, Suffolk Jewels, The Art and Print Fair at Art Eat Festival and Art at the Altar. The event will take place on Sunday the 3rd September 2023 and will run from 10am to 6pm.
Art on the Prom 2023 will look very similar in terms of footprint, it will be based, as always, on Heras Fencing panels which can be hired by arts and craft practitioners. Curation will be slightly tighter as large numbers of applications are expected and prices have been adjusted in line with costs. Art on the Prom 2023 expects a very high footfall due to the existing legacy, a long absence and an additional event taking place on the same weekend called Love Felixstowe. This offers AOTP great opportunities including additional marketing, inclusion in the Love Felixstowe weekend event program and an increased footfall to the town.
AOTP Iona also currently in negotiations with potential supporters of the event including East Suffolk Council, Felixstowe Town Council, Felixstowe BID and potential sponsors in the hope of gaining further support which looks promising. Announcements on supporters and sponsors will come later. Inevitability of change has meant that to make the event viable financially and in line with the cost of production, including staff time, logistics, marketing, and essential infrastructure. AOTP 2023 will see the cost of participation rise from previous years. Cost of participation to AOPT 2023 is as follows:

  • Double panel 660cm Wide X 180cm High £190

AOTP remains a standalone business and with a not-for-profit remit meaning that any profit made after covering costs will be reinvested into future events or be used to pay for additional programs such as art workshops or entertainments.
